Pandemics and Communicable Diseases

We advise schools to include planning for, responding to and recovering from a health outbreak of a communicable disease in their Emergency Management plans (EMP). 

To help prevent outbreaks, we encourage schools to implement a school-wide approach to personal hygiene and advise students and staff to stay at home if they are unwell.

Schools should monitor the websites for up-to-date health alerts.
