The鈥诹仙 Government asked NESA to develop more than 200 new syllabuses between 2021 and 2027. NESA has streamlined the existing syllabus development process to meet the government-mandated timelines. This includes processes for prioritisation, development and approval of syllabuses.

- Approval
- Preparation and implementation.
Guiding principles
As part of the syllabus development and implementation process, NESA has been consulting widely with education stakeholders from all sectors and the broader community.
The new K鈥12 syllabus development process is guided by the following principles:
- transparency
- quality assurance
- clear governance structures
- alignment with the Australian Curriculum (where relevant)
- research and/or evidence
